Artist Memo: Globalization, standardizing with the modern world, inevitably shares its contemporary ideology. We exchange different thoughts and ideas in this "public market," but some of the products are actually quite lethal when you bring them home.
Basic human rights-freedoms of speech, publication, gathering, and political opinion-caused thousands of people their lives in Tiananmen Square, China, in 1989. The best generation of the country paid their lives for their ideologies, slaughtered by their own national army. In Chinese culture, I think, the truth is not always the fact; there is a big different between "fiction" and "reality."
