Artist Memo: I painted the hands when I was in Italy in 1995, inspired by the fogginess and quietness of Venice at night.

But I couldn't see the figure's face back then, so I thought I would leave it like that for a short while. Surprisingly, five years have passed already. What a long "short while" and a certain face it took me five years to see.
